Why MBHF
Today's
earth family is facing series crises in multiple vital systems, including: our economic, mental and physical health, environmental, and energy resource systems. More and more health practitioners, psychologists, educators, and spiritual practitioners understand that each of these crises originated from a wide number of factors involving the interrelationship of social, familial, cultural, educational, nutritional, environmental, psychological, and physiological disturbances at all levels from individuals to societies.
The
fact is that, on this fast-developing planet, we keep seeing an increasing number of people, regardless of age, including newborns, children, young adults, adults, and seniors who are suffering from mental and physical health problems, tremendous stress, anxiety, depression, and other disorders, as well as an increase in physical diseases that are caused by, or are causing, mental illnesses. The range of disease is lengthy, including serious diseases such as cancer, heart failure, AIDS, Diabetes, MCS, fatigue, fibromyalgia, fibroid, STD to ADD/ADHD, eating disorder, drug/alcohol/cigarette addictions, depression, anxiety, daily stress—there are over 10,000 diseases cited in the modern medical dictionary—and the number is still increasing. Additionally, many diseases have not been added or defined. Overall and unfortunately, many of these diseases are not easily cured or are still labeled as incurable disease despite well-developed modern medicine and expensive medical care services.
A
recent WHO (World Health Organization) study indicates that in next 13 years the number of cancer patients per year will be increased from 10 million to 15 million while the number of deaths due to cancer will be increased from 6 million to 10 million each.
According
to convincing research by APA (American Psychological Association) and WHO, more than half of the college students in the United States have suicidal thoughts due to stress and mental problems such as depression, confusion, and feelings of hopelessness as well as a lack of understanding with regard to issues of self-awareness and life purpose.
All
of these hardships are the result of interactions among the aforementioned social, familial, economic, educational, mental, physical, environmental, and nutritional problems, as well as accumulative personal experiences and physiological factors
.
If we are to find and implement a fundamental, comprehensive, effective, preventive and practical solution to help regain true, whole person health and harmony, regardless of community lines, toward a greater global good, then individual and collective healthcare cannot be ignored any further.
The core solution to our current problems is to scientifically address whole person needs and strengths in terms of whole person healthcare. The aim of Mind-Body Medicine (MBM) is to synchronize and balance the inseparable connection between mind, body, and spirit and the complexity of interactions among these to help attain Mind-Body Health (MBH).
Mind-Body Health Foundation (MBHF) and Mind-Body Medicine (MBM) are based on natural law and fundamental principles in addition to well-established techniques that have been developed throughout a long history and which are still being advanced today. They combine and coordinate science, technology, research, educational practice and procedures, healthcare services and modalities, individual and group coaching and counseling techniques, as well as organizational, entrepreneurial and social practices to help optimize individual and systemic health, wellness, and peaceful solutions for all .
It
is obvious that MBH and MBM aims can be reached only by joint efforts, integrative study, and kind-hearted contributions from as many valued talents and resources as possible from different fields. These talents and resources include not only health practitioners and educators in the related fields of life science, conventional medicine, alternative and complementary medicine, and psychology, but also successful professionals in other disciplines such as natural sciences, social sciences, and business management, as well as individuals, organizations, companies, and governments that share similar concerns toward the development and promotion of Mind-Body Health and its science, education, and research as a public health science and practice.
As such, MBHF is established as a platform and network within which all such professionals, individuals, and spirits can join efforts to: promote MBH/MBM; conventionalize MBH education and services; assist a plethora of MBM healthcare professionals in the practice of MBH/MBM; help communities better understand MBH/MBM; develop, promote, and implement MBH and MBM healthcare services and education programs; and as result help people everywhere optimize their living, health, and joy..
